The Avionics Manager is responsible for developing and managing an avionics shop within a FAR Part 145 repair station.

Responsibilities and Duties
1. Demonstrates leadership skills and always presents a positive and professional image.
2. Responsible for proposal development and contract generation in response to Request for Quote (RFQ's).
3. Executes on goals and objectives for assigned Avionics products that are consistent with corporate strategy and objectives.
4. Provides input for development of annual sales plan for Avionics product line.
5. Must possess a solid understanding of various means for Return to Service (RTS) to include FAA Form 337's, DER approvals in both electrical and mechanical areas, PMA activities, and the STC development process

3. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Distinguish between colors-red/yellow/green
4. Highly proficient in computer applications: MSWord, Excel, and the Internet based applications.
5. Basic mathematical knowledge

Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Director of Maintenance.

Work Environment
This position works inside a hangar and outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:
1. Position requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
2. Good physical condition, frequent lifting, carrying weight up to 35 pounds, and occasional pushing/pulling weights up to 100 pounds.
3. Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery
4. Outside work in all types of weather conditions.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt position. This position includes shift work which requires working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.

Some travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
1. Seven years' experience in the field of troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems most common to mid-size corporate aircraft, to include pitot-static work and transponder calibrations.
2. Prior aircraft ground handling experience
3. High School Diploma or equivalent
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
2. Acceptable driving record
3. Ability to pass a background check
4. Participate in DOT drug and alcohol screening program
