Objective

Leverage the strength of a Corporate FBO given the orientation of the Customer base at each location. Corporate FBO's, although alike in levels of Customer Service and Safety can be segmented into two groups. Segmentation is based upon the volume of business lines(Business Aviation Commercial, Military) and dependent upon whether they are sole fuel source, contractual operations, or highly competitive for fuel and hangar sales. 

 

This job description describes the Responsibilities/ Duties of the VP with Operational Experience

 

Responsibilities / Duties

The responsibilities and duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  1. Foster a teamwork-oriented, high-performance culture that is customer-focused.
  2. Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  3. Full Profit and Loss responsibilities for each reporting FBO.
  4. Analyze market potentials, track sales activities, and status reports.
  5. Utilizing the EVP's Operational experience, develop operational excellence strategies and executable plans customized to each reporting location-dependent airport operations segmented by Military, Commercial, and Business Aviation. Improve the profitability of the businesses by championing and implementing operational excellence techniques, continuous improvement processes, and verification metrics.
  6. Lead Technical aspects of prospective Commercial and Military Customer presentations, meetings, contract review, negotiation, and closure.
  7. Set priorities and strategic direction for General Managers of each reporting FBO including the resources (staff capacity, technology, and training) they need to drive goal achievement.
  8. Work with COO to ensure accurate budgeting, finance, cash control, and reporting.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:

  1. Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  2. Stand to greet customers during verbal exchanges, walk throughout the facility to interact with customers.
  3. Possible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.

 

Position Type and Hours of Work

This is an Exempt position. This position may require working evenings and weekends and on company scheduled holidays.

 

Travel

Travel is expected for this position and may include industry trade shows, sales opportunities, and assisting other locations.

 

Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Degreed professional, MBA or other graduate degrees in related field preferred, with a proven track record for sales development and business control management.
  2. Aviation FBO management experience, 10 yrs minimum required.
  3. Minimum of 10-15 years of business experience resulting in full P&L responsibility for a business, or financial responsibility for a significant functional area
  4. Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters
  5. Strong Sales and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients
  6. Demonstrated ability to interact with senior-level executives
  7. Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change
  8. Strong understanding of scope, schedule, budget, and earned value
  9. Ability to exercise independent direction and judgment and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
