The pilot in command falls under the flight crew division of the flight operations department, and is responsible for providing outstanding service to charter customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company procedures and FAA regulations. The purpose of the flight operations department is to provide safe, secure, convenient air transportation in line with client demands.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Work to ensure safety is never compromised, working with the safety manager.
2. Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner. Develop a rapport with aircraft owners.
3. Inspect aircraft for cleanliness and upkeep prior to customer arrival
4. Communicate often and in a timely fashion in person, by phone, and by email. Advise flight ops of customer preferences.
5. Must have knowledge of applicable regulations and operating rules, and maintain technical knowledge, skills, and competency by continuing education and practice
6. Operate the aircraft within safety and compliance restraints including negotiating fuel rates with FBO's and use company resources in order to keep wastefulness at a minimum

1. Pilot in Command is the final authority as to the determination for the safety and regulatory compliance of each flight assigned
2. Pilot in Command has 3rd tier operational control authority
3. Keep current on technical and regulatory knowledge, skill and competency by reading and ongoing training
4. Monitor dates of pilot qualification courses
5. Monitor data cards for GPS systems and Jeppesen charts. Notify chief pilot of discrepancies.
6. Monitor condition of aircraft checklists and notify chief pilot of discrepancies
7. Ensure operations manuals in aircraft or available electronically
8. Monitor contents of aircraft cans for proper paperwork, insurance information, and customs forms
9. Attend regular pilot meetings
10. Delegate duties to other personnel, but retains responsibility for duties
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Chief Pilot
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional environment, which may include exposure to all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt position.
This position includes varying duty schedules which requires working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.
Scheduling flexibility a must

No travel expected outside of PIC duties.
Required Education and Experience
1. Possess an ATP certificate with appropriate type rating
2. Have acquired 3000 hours total time, and 300 hours of operating experience in type
3. Possess a valid 1st class medical
4. Attend Part 135 simulator training every 6 months, and part 91 simulator training every 12 months
5. Be or become highly knowledgeable of CFR 14
6. Meet the requirements of 14CFR, Part 135.243 (a)(1) and (c)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must meet all of the training and qualification requirements of 14 CFR, Part 135.293; part 135.297 and part 135.299; and the FAA approved training program.
2. Must be trained on applicable TSA and Customs and Border Patrol Regulations
3. Acceptable driving record
4. Ability to pass a background check
5. Zero tolerance drug free company
6. Must live within 30 minutes of Houston Hobby Airport
